Job Summary: Collect, sort, and distribute campus mail, United States mail and other printed and packaged materials for the campus; and perform related work as required.
Duties and responsibilities - Operate mailing equipment and online shipping services: weigh, stamp or run outgoing United States mail through meter mailing equipment; keep accurate accounts to charge the various campus departments for mailing expenses.
- Operate motor vehicle while routing mail to/from campus: use university-provided delivery vehicles for both on-campus and off campus deliveries; perform campus mail pickups and deliveries.
- Collect and sort incoming/outgoing mail: receive, sort, and distribute campus mail, United States mail and files. As well as packages from the Central Mail room, to the various departments and divisions on campus.
- Other classification-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: - One year of general office clerical work, stock clerk work or delivery service work.
Required Qualifications: - General knowledge of office methods supplies and equipment, working knowledge of current postage rates and shipping rules and regulations.
- Ability to accurately interpret and apply current postage rate charts and regulations; spell correctly; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; and perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications: - High School diploma or equivalent
Special Conditions: - Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs
License and Certifications: - Valid California State driver's license
Compensation and Benefits: Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,680 - $3,728 per month
Classification Salary Range: $3,680 - $5,263 per month
The salary offered will take into account internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Temporary
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
This position classification has been defined as non-exempt and is subjected to overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
As of January 1, 2022, the CSU Out-of-State Employment Policy prohibits the hiring of employees to perform CSU-related work outside the state of California.

Conditions of Employment Background Check Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Physical Exam Employment is contingent upon candidate passing a pre-employment physical exam with the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
