Pittsburgh PA, 15222 (hybrid)

Pay: $55-60/hour


Job Description:

As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Oracle database environments. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, including database design, implementation, and troubleshooting. This position requires a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies and a strong ability to solve complex technical problems.



Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Perform day-to-day database administration tasks, including database backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security management.
• Monitor database performance and proactively address performance issues.
• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Manage database users, roles, and privileges.

Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement new databases, including database schema, indexes, and constraints. Migrate databases to new hardware or software platforms. Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques. Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain high availability solutions, such as Data Guard and Real Application Clusters (RAC). Perform database backups and recovery operations. Test and validate disaster recovery plans. Project Involvement: Participate in database-related projects, including new database implementations, upgrades, and migrations. Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth database operations. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, including RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate
• Experience with Oracle database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata
• Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
• Certification in Oracle Database Administration
