Receptionist Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) Location McConnell AFB, KS :
ROLE We need an experienced Receptionist to help support Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) for the Department of Air force (DOF) Department of Defense (DOD). RESPONSIBILITIES - Facilitate the identification of family concerns and guide families through navigating the military system.
- Demonstrate professionalism while managing multiple phone calls, sorting emails, and walk-in inquiries.
- Resolve issues for M&FRC and base community members seeking assistance.
- Assess the purpose of visits and direct customers to appropriate areas within the center.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere by personally greeting and assisting all customers.
- Administer workshop registrations and assist customers with online registration procedures, including password resets.
- Record daily walk-in and call-in customer numbers using established processes.
- Coordinate one-on-one customer appointments for staff daily.
- Enter data for workshop attendance and customer statements of understanding.
- Develop, update, and maintain in-house referral tools such as phone lists and appointment books.
- Ensure all materials in the front lobby, including local relocation books, are up to date.
- Conduct quarterly physical inventory of office supplies and report discrepancies promptly.
- Offer technical assistance to Discovery Center visitors, including troubleshooting printing and fax machine issues.
- Uphold confidentiality of individual and family data.
- Provide reception support during standard duty hours in case of Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) activation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and front lobby.
- Serve as a key holder for the M&FRC, responsible for opening and closing procedures.
- Communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS - Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge in military protocols, air force terminology
- Proficiency in web-based scheduling and data entry systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
BACKGROUND - Progressive and relevant experience
- Experience with family support programming
EDUCATION - Preference for Bachelor's degree
LOCATION - McConnell AFB, Sedgwick County, Kansas 67221
TELEWORK CLEARANCE - U.S. citizenship required since this role supports the U.S. federal government
