DailyMail.com is looking for an energetic and skilled reporter to join our Washington, D.C.-based team covering U.S. politics. You will cover news of the day whether it originates on Capitol Hill, at the White House, in Cabinet agencies or on the campaign trail.

This is a rare opportunity for a smart, prolific journalist to write for the English-speaking world's most-read newspaper website.

Our reporters thrive in a deadline-rich environment and cover every story with the urgency of breaking news. They're natural storytellers and understand how to communicate in words, photographs and video.

The successful applicant will be based in the Washington metro area. We offer competitive salary, benefits and vacation time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Strong knowledge of Congress, the White House and federal election campaigns
• Experience covering U.S. politics for a news organization that operates in real-time
• Competence with a digital publishing platform A portfolio of published clips
